B/X Essentials: Classic Set Complete!

I am delighted to announce the publication of B/X Essentials: Adventures and Treasures! This is the final book in the "classic" B/X Essentials set. Together with the first four books, it forms a complete rules reference to the traditional Basic/Expert game, laid out for enhanced ease of use at the table, and modularised for your house-ruling pleasure.

A true labour of love from myself and the many people who helped out with proofreading, rules checking, number crunching, and so on!

Get it / the whole set here:

  1. Excellent. What are you the chances that these could be loaded up onto Roll20 or Fantasy Grounds? Just having the monsters alone would be valuable. Also, can someone publish adventures using these?

    1. Honestly, I have zero idea how uploading rules to those platforms works! Are there not already B/X materials there?

For publishing adventures etc, see the compatibility license in this folder: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B__F-t5ELhsHdGpKWHYyVzJBYWs

  2. These are really excellent pro ducts, I have started a campaign with my wife(who has played 3.0 before) and my 10 year old daughter(who only played fighting fantasy 2.0 once before) and they both love it!! Thank you for all the hard work I really appreciate it and can't wait for your next project.

    1. We're currently planning a Kickstarter for the compiled hardback (and a boxed set of the five books) in early 2019.

  4. Just ordered the bundle.. very, very nice work!

I do have a question: On the Swords table (pg 35, Adventures and Treasures), the Sword +1 entry has 2 asterisks but I can't figure out what that indicates?

Count me in as a Day One backer for the compiled hardback!

    1. Well spotted! I noticed that the other day as well. It's a mistake. It has no meaning.

  5. Gavin, what's next? The Woods, the illusionists, the vivimancers or something else?

Boy, you have a lot on your plate!

    1. Haha yes, I think I'm onto several plates by this stage! The main focus right now is on building up to the Kickstarters for the deluxe B/X Essentials books and the Dolmenwood Campaign Book.
